About the Role

The Information Security Operations Analyst participates and supports the implementation of the Information Security Strategic Plan. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining security mechanisms and components, evaluating security tools (hardware/software), documentation, and reporting results with recommendations. The role also involves assisting with detailed information technology audit reviews to assess Harris County Hospital District's compliance with federal and state regulations, including application audits, network reviews, and regulatory compliance reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain security mechanisms and components.
  • Evaluate security tools (hardware/software) and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with detailed information technology audit reviews to assess compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct application audits, network reviews, and regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Document and report findings with actionable recommendations.

Requirements

  • Four (4) year degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • CISSP and/or CISA Certification.
  • Alternatively, Security+, CySA+, SC-200, or SC-401 certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in evaluating and reviewing mainframe, Unix, and Windows applications and computer systems.

Skills

  • Analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with PC and word processing software.
  • Exceptional verbal communication (e.g., public speaking).
  • Strong writing and composing skills (correspondence).
