Information Security Engineer

Our client, a leader in autonomous mobility, is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join their team. As an Information Security Engineer, you will be part of the Information Security team supporting Security Operations Center (SOC) activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong drive to improve security outcomes, the ability to analyze complex security signals, and the motivation to automate incident response to help protect systems at scale. Job Title: Information Security Engineer Location: Foster City, CA Pay Range: $75-$80/hour + Benefits What's the Job? Maintain and optimize SIEM and SOAR platforms to ensure reliable detection and efficient response to security threats. Develop and fine-tune SIEM detection and correlation rules, dashboards, and reports to identify anomalous activity with precision. Create, manage, and continuously improve SOAR playbooks that automate incident response workflows and streamline SOC operations. Use Python scripting to build custom integrations and automate repetitive SOC tasks, including alert triage and incident response support. Conduct proactive threat hunting by analyzing alerts and data from multiple sources to identify potential gaps and indicators of compromise. What's Needed? 6+ years of experience in a Security Engineering role supporting a SOC environment or a similar function. Demonstrable experience with SOAR platforms (such as Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, or Tines) and playbook development. Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation of security tasks. Strong understanding of incident response methodologies, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity frameworks (including MITRE ATT&CK and NIST). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. What's in it for me?
