Responsibilities

  • Threat detection and threat hunting activities across large datasets, involving multiple sources.
  • Incident response handling for detected incidents, and coordination of incident response activities.
  • Security control implementation across multiple organizations.
  • Mentor other data security analysts.
  • Develop incident response automations and workflows.
  • Conduct state-wide training and security briefings for education organizations.
  • Assist local education agencies meet minimum cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Solid understanding of dynamic threat landscapes and their compensating controls.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze large datasets for security threats.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex risks to stakeholders.
  • Experienced systems administration for enterprise services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of data security analysts.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cybersecurity monitoring.
  • Experienced in planning and accomplishing goals.
  • Experienced in leading and mentoring others.

Qualifications

  • EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
  • Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
    • Information Security Analyst, I: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.
    • Information Security Analyst, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
    • Information Security Analyst, III: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

Pay

  • Range: $60,000 - $105,000

Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – 8 AM – 5 PM
