Information Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time, safety-critical systems involving multiple sensor and communication systems to ensure safety-of-flight requirements are met.
• Develop and maintain database-driven workflow or administrative systems, focusing on data integration, storage, and accessibility.
• Build and optimize data pipelines to collect, process, and store information from diverse sources.
• Implement and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable database systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate data solutions into applications and workflows.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through validation, monitoring, and error-handling processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data systems, infrastructure, or real-time system performance.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and workflows.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations to enhance system performance.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, data privacy laws, and organizational security policies.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related scientific field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of real-time systems, sensor integration, or communication systems for ES domain roles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Understanding of FAA regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and security best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with real-time, safety-critical systems or safety-of-flight applications (ES domain).
• Knowledge of database-driven workflow or administrative systems (CSD/CSS domain).
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).
