About the role
The Information Assurance Manager (IAM) oversees the strategic process for protecting information and systems from misuse, unauthorized access, and data breaches within the Office of Export and Secure Research Compliance (OESRC) Industrial Security Program.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain policies and procedures to ensure all supported users remain in compliance with applicable safeguarding requirements.
- Cook with government agencies as appropriate to ensure accreditations are obtained and maintained as required.
- Initiate and manage new projects from inception to completion, exercising discretion and best judgment, and then maintaining these initiatives.
- These projects range from moderately complex and varied to working on multiple, complex projects simultaneously and independently.
- Provide direct services to users with all aspects of information systems and/or network operations including setup, continuous monitoring, enhanced security safeguarding, instructional training, disaster recovery, cyber incident investigation/reporting and disposition of materials/data at the completion of a project.
- Support to multiple sites and provide comprehensive services, training, system maintenance, inventory control and analysis of existing and future security technology needs.
- Function as emergency personnel for alarm response and must be able to respond timely to emergencies within 60 minutes during evenings and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature and sensitivity of the position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and Counterintelligence (CI) or full-scope Polygraph.
- Advanced degree or training, certifications, and progressively advanced experience in lieu of an advanced degree in information technology, information security, computer science, or other relevant field.
- Demonstrated working experience developing policies and procedures such as detailed documentation and training resources for end users.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously but also within a team environment.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and customer service communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with advanced computer security concepts and procedures, such as firewall management, intrusion prevention systems, encryption, incident response, multi-domain management.
- Demonstrated working experience with network and computer monitoring, data forensics, and data recovery.
- Demonstrated working experience with system deployment tools, Windows domain management, hardware maintenance, as well as familiarity with multiple operating systems such as Windows, OS X and Linux.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800 series, Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 199 and 200, applicable Department of Defense publications, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DCSA Assessment and Authorization Guide (DAAG), and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and government system or network accreditation process.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and Counterintelligence (CI) or full-scope Polygraph.
- DoD Approved 8570 Information Assurance Manager (IAM) certifications such as Security + CE; CISSP, etc.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to multi-task.
- Experience using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system.
Skills
- Knowledge of current security standards and regulations, such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800 series, Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 199 and 200, applicable Department of Defense publications, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DCSA Assessment and Authorization Guide (DAAG), and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
- Knowledge of secure server and desktop techniques and encryption technologies.
Benefits
Starting at $130,000; commensurate with experience.

Schedule
40 hours per week.
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the work, the position is restricted to U.S. Citizens and is not eligible for remote work. This position is considered emergency personnel and must be able to respond timely to emergencies at the facility within 60 minutes during evenings and weekends as needed. The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
