Information Assurance Engineer

About the role

FEDITC is seeking an Information Assurance Engineer to work in Warren, MI. A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

The contractor shall establish and satisfy complex system-wide information security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. They will support customers in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies, apply security engineering to government and commercial systems, and provide Information Assurance Engineering as the primary security representative on engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all acquisitions, procurements, and outsourcing efforts address information security requirements consistent with the Army and DoD.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of procurement functions in addressing information security requirements and supply chain risks, recommending improvements.
• Identify alternative information security strategies to address security objectives.
• Identify IT security program implications of new technologies or upgrades.
• Interpret and recommend security requirements relative to new information technologies.
• Interpret patterns of noncompliance to determine their impact on risk and enterprise effectiveness.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cybersecurity safeguards.
• Participate in the Risk Governance process to address security risks and mitigations.
• Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are implemented.
• Provide input to the Risk Management Framework process and related documentation (e.g., system life-cycle support plans, concept of operations).
• Assist with the selection of cost-effective security controls to mitigate risk.
• Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
• Support the Government in enforcing the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
• Apply knowledge of cyber policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
• Act as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of cyber architectures, systems, or components.

Requirements

• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance (required).
• United States Citizenship (required).
• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) and certifications as required by the client.
