About the role
The Info Session Volunteer serves as the face of Outcome School during community events, school visits, and local outreach sessions. You will help prospective students, parents, and volunteers learn about our programs, ask questions, and feel confident taking the next step.
Key Responsibilities
Host In-Person Info Sessions
- Lead or co-lead info sessions at community centers, schools, libraries, and partner locations
- Present an engaging overview of Outcome School’s mission, programs, and learning pathways
- Facilitate Q&A sessions with clarity, warmth, and professionalism
- Share stories, examples, and program highlights that bring the experience to life
Engage with Attendees
- Welcome students, parents, and volunteers as they arrive
- Provide one-on-one guidance after the session
- Help attendees understand next steps (applications, volunteer sign-ups, orientation, etc.)
- Represent Outcome School with enthusiasm, empathy, and cultural awareness
Support Event Logistics
- Assist with setup and breakdown of materials (sign-in sheets, flyers, banners, etc.)
- Clock in with the Program Manager and Volunteer Coordinator
- Track attendance and share feedback from sessions
- Help improve the flow, clarity, and impact of future info sessions
Ideal Volunteer
- Enjoy public speaking and community engagement
- Are friendly, confident, and comfortable talking to groups
- Are reliable, organized, and professional
- Care deeply about youth empowerment and equitable access to tech education
- Have experience in education, outreach, customer service, or community work (not required)
- Are based in Los Angeles or Southern California and able to attend in-person events
Time Commitment
- 1–3 hours per week
- In-person events across Los Angeles and surrounding areas
- Flexible scheduling based on event calendar
- Minimum 3-month commitment
