Infectious Diseases Physician Scientist
About the role
The Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is recruiting for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, dependent on qualifications and experience, in the Tenure Track. The position is for a junior or mid-level physician scientist who is board-eligible or board certified in Infectious Diseases and has established or shows promise of establishing a research career.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the educational mission by taking part in seminars, didactic lectures, and clinical conferences.
- Contribute to the clinical care of patients in the Division’s inpatient services, including General Infectious Diseases and Transplant Infectious Diseases.
- Engage in research in the areas of virology, pathogen-host interactions, HIV care, travel medicine, and global health, with a focus on NIH/NCI-funded projects.
Requirements
- Board certification or board eligibility in Infectious Diseases.
- Established or demonstrated potential for a research career.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in relevant field.
- Experience in infectious diseases research.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
