About the role

The Infectious Diseases Division in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is recruiting for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, dependent on qualifications and experience, in the Tenure Track. The position is for a junior or mid-level physician scientist who is board-eligible or board certified in Infectious Diseases and has established or shows promise of establishing a research career.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the educational mission by taking part in seminars, didactic lectures, and clinical conferences.
  • Contribute to the clinical care of patients in the Division’s inpatient services, including General Infectious Diseases and Transplant Infectious Diseases.
  • Engage in research in the areas of virology, pathogen-host interactions, HIV care, travel medicine, and global health, with a focus on NIH/NCI-funded projects.

Requirements

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Infectious Diseases.
  • Established or demonstrated potential for a research career.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in relevant field.
  • Experience in infectious diseases research.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Leadership qualities.
