Infectious Disease physician

About the role

This is a part-time Infectious Disease Physician position with a national wound physician group, based in Des Moines, IA. The role offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound care in over 3,200 facilities across 28 states
• Become an expert in wound management, learning from highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities
• Deliver modern wound management at the bedside in the post-acute care setting: Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each facility
• Visit 2-3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20-30 patients per day
• Complete clinical documentation at point of care, in real-time during clinical rounds, using a proprietary wound-specific EMR

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in the state you wish to practice
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week

Practice details

• Full-time schedule: Monday – Friday (7am-4pm); part-time also available
• No call / no weekend clinical responsibilities
• Part-time role: minimum of 3 days per week; full-time role: 4 – 5 days per week
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities in a 40–60 mile radius of practice location
• Paid training provided during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available)
