About the role

The Infectious Disease Physician will provide comprehensive infectious disease consultations and ongoing care for hospitalized patients and outpatients. This role involves diagnosing and treating bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections, managing complex cases such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, sepsis, and healthcare-associated infections, participating in antimicrobial stewardship programs, collaborating with hospital epidemiology and infection prevention teams, educating patients, families, and healthcare professionals on infectious diseases and preventive measures, and maintaining accurate and timely medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive infectious disease consultations and ongoing care for hospitalized patients and outpatients
  • Diagnose and treat bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections
  • Manage complex cases, including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, sepsis, and healthcare-associated infections
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs to optimize antibiotic use and minimize resistance
  • Collaborate with hospital epidemiology and infection prevention teams
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals on infectious diseases and preventive measures
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Infectious Disease
  • Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease Fellowship program
  • Valid Ohio medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to evidence-based medicine
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional development

Qualifications
