Infection Preventionist, Employee Health Nurse Educator
About the role
Oversight and responsibility for infection control, employee health, and nursing education-related activities. Participation in the organization’s employee safety programs. Directs infection control efforts to ensure compliance with national, state, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Works with hospital leaders and staff to improve infection control systems and outcomes. Provides education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff, facilitating evidence-based practice. Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into patient plans of care. Performs direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence to CMS standards and related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) within five years of hire
- ADN or BSN in Nursing
- One (1) year of experience working in a healthcare setting
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Current CIC certification
- Master’s degree in a health-related field, preferably with a strong analytical background
- Two (2) years of experience in Infection Control or Employee Health in a hospital setting
- Strong computer and research skills to stay updated with new developments, best practices, and standards of care in healthcare
Pay
$72,000.00 - $106,000.00 annually
