Infection Preventionist

Bear Mountain at Sudbury is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Preventionist to join our team. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with CDC and OSHA guidelines
• Conduct surveillance and monitor infection rates to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices and policies
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and address potential infection control issues
• Develop and maintain infection control policies, procedures, and protocols
• Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives to reduce infection rates

Requirements

• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility
• Minimum six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
• Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique, including standard/universal precautions
• APIC Certification in infection control preferred
• Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents served
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
