Bear Mountain at Sudbury is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Preventionist to join our team. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with CDC and OSHA guidelines
- Conduct surveillance and monitor infection rates to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices and policies
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with infection control standards
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address potential infection control issues
- Develop and maintain infection control policies, procedures, and protocols
- Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives to reduce infection rates
Requirements
- Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility
- Minimum six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
- Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique, including standard/universal precautions
- APIC Certification in infection control preferred
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents served
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public

- Able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to meet position requirements
