About the role
The Infection Preventionist at Mercy San Juan Medical Center is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating effective infection prevention and control programs across the organization. This includes conducting surveillance for healthcare-associated infections, analyzing data to identify trends, designing evidence-based interventions to prevent their spread, and educating staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections
- Analyze data to identify trends and design interventions
- Educate staff on infection prevention and control
- Consult on infectious disease issues
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a focus on epidemiology or an Associate degree in a healthcare-related field with three (3) years of healthcare-related experience
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) within the first two (2) years of hire
