About the role
The Infection Prevention Specialist I role is responsible for monitoring and responding to Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) and communicable infections by conducting surveillance, tracking cases, ensuring adequate isolation precautions, investigating suspected outbreaks, and helping develop and implement action plans to prevent and control infections.
Responsibilities
- Conduct surveillance and track cases of healthcare associated infections and communicable diseases
- Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and infection control protocols
- Investigate suspected outbreaks and develop action plans to prevent and control infections
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent training in a health related field (Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, and Epidemiology)
- Current certification by the Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) preferred
- Two to five years of experience in a health related field required
