About the Role
Provides coaching and training designed to support continuous quality improvement for providers in the Texas Infant-Toddler program. Works with classroom teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to enhance instructional practices and professional development in early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face and/or remote coaching to classroom teachers and administrators as scheduled.
- Deliver face-to-face and/or remote training on Texas Infant-Toddler Specialists topics.
- Become a Registered Trainer on TECPDS (Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System).
- Complete all required training via CLI Engage to become a certified Infant-Toddler Specialist.
- Partner with providers to develop and implement Infant-Toddler trainings for staff.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and others to interpret child data and improve instructional practices.
- Promote the Texas Infant-Toddler program with partnering agencies, clients, child care centers, and the public.
- Maintain caseloads in accordance with TWC and Workforce Solutions Board guidelines.
- Complete accurate documentation and data entry for contracted child care centers.
- Submit required Infant-Toddler training hours to the Provider Services Manager.
- Create workshops and other training activities as appropriate.
- Provide consultation and directions to providers, teachers, and classroom staff.
- Serve as an Infant-Toddler liaison with local entities improving child care quality.
- Conduct evaluations and follow-up strategies to assess training effectiveness.
- Maintain Provider files according to department policies.
- Notify management of any real or perceived problems.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and work cooperatively with providers and staff.
- Arrive at work on time and ready to work scheduled hours.
- Accurately document information in Provider files and complete all paperwork timely.
- Submit required coaching and video training hours to the Infant-Toddler Specialist Network.
- Attend monthly Professional Learning Committees (PLC) and complete prerequisites.
- Adjust schedules to include evening or weekend work as needed.
- Communicate positively with parents, caregivers, and child care providers.
- Work independently and cooperatively with good time management skills.
- Report suspected child abuse and neglect in accordance with legal responsibilities.
- Report suspected fraud and abuse to management.
- Ensure non-discrimination for all individuals regardless of race, religion, or background.
- Participate in job-related in-service trainings, conferences, and workshops.
- Operate office equipment including computers, scanners, copiers, and phones.
- Handle and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
- Report on-the-job accidents immediately.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science (preferred). High School Diploma required.
- Three years of full-time early childhood classroom experience in a child care facility, Early Head Start, Head Start, or prekindergarten through third grade.
- One year of Infant-Toddler caregiving experience.
- Experience in social services skills relating to parents, children, and providers in the child care industry.
- Knowledge of child care licensing standards and the needs of young children (preferred).
- Ability to write clearly and maintain records.
- Ability to relate to diverse groups and work with low-income individuals.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
- Ability to coordinate trainings for adults in early childhood.
- Ability to organize and implement systems for monitoring provider agreements and accreditation deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Suite.
- Strong oral and written communication skills using correct business English.
- Ability to balance multiple duties, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the agency’s “Drug Free” policy.
- Minimum age of 25 to operate a company vehicle (one year may be waived with a satisfactory motor vehicle report).
- Ability to provide reliable self-transportation for regional travel.
- Valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s permit and maintenance of a satisfactory MVR.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional pushing/pulling of weight over 25 pounds.
- Ability to lift boxes of supplies and adjust office furniture.
Work Environment
- Ability to adapt to inclement weather and driving long distances within or outside the service area.

Travel Requirements
- Normal to heavy travel to Provider locations within the Workforce Solutions Workforce Resource Child Care area.
- Travel for meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the service area.
- Ability to travel by air for training, conferences, and related activities.
