About the role
LeafSpring School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position involves assisting with lesson planning and curriculum implementation, supervising children during classroom transitions, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the creation of a supportive, inclusive early childhood learning environment
- Supervise children during classroom transitions, group play, and hands-on activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment aligned with state licensing regulations
- Encourage independence, self-help skills, and social interaction through positive guidance strategies
- Observe and document children’s behavior and milestones for communication with families and the teaching team
- Provide age-appropriate support for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, depending on assigned classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive, inclusive early childhood learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in child care, preschool, daycare, or toddler education (preferred)
- Understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
- Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to multitask, follow classroom structure, and adapt to children’s needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education courses (preferred but not required)
