Infant Teacher

About This Role

Cheyenne's Early Learning Center in Bridgeport, CT is hiring an Infant Teacher to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $18 – $20/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.

What You'll Do

• Developing engaging daily routines that cater to the unique interests and needs of each child and the group
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order
• Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, including guidelines for discipline and behavior
• Planning and scheduling regular activities and events to promote learning and development
• Staying up-to-date with industry developments through ongoing professional education and training, and contributing to the evaluation and improvement of program goals and objectives
• Designing and implementing activities that meet the diverse needs of children, promoting their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth
• Fostering an inclusive classroom environment that encourages parent participation and collaboration
• Providing access to necessary resources and activities
• Ensuring the safety and supervision of all children at all times
• Engaging with parents to discuss their child's progress and development
• Implementing positive discipline techniques to promote social and emotional development
• Maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development
• Creating a secure and supportive environment where children feel comfortable and valued
• Incorporating children with special needs in a respectful and inclusive manner

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a center-based setting
• CPR/First Aid certified
• Knowledge of ELDS or DOTS
• Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation a plus
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood
• Provide 3 professional references

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of the NAEYC accreditation process
• Understanding of ELDS or DOTS
• Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds
