Infant and Early Childhood Care Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, and case management tailored to infants, young children, and their caregivers.
• Collaborate with peer support specialists, housing and court coordinators, and other care team members to provide holistic support to families.
• Assist with assessments and diagnostic impressions for clients aged 0-5 and provide psychoeducation to caregivers on child development and mental health needs.
• Create and revise individualized treatment plans focused on developmental milestones and early intervention.
• Facilitate referrals and service coordination with internal and external providers including medical, dental, educational, and early childhood development programs.
• Provide education and advocacy support to caregivers, educators, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain communication and collaboration with child-serving systems such as DSHS, housing agencies, court systems, and CPS.
• Support families in establishing health routines, securing primary care providers, and accessing dental and developmental care.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, treatment goals, and client progress in alignment with agency and medical necessity standards.
• Respond to behavioral health crises with developmentally appropriate interventions and coordinate with crisis responders as needed.
• Empower families by connecting them to community resources, educational materials, and systems navigation support.

Minimum Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family, Relational Counseling, Social Work, or a related Social Services, or mental health field degree.
• EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience working with 0-5 age range. (can include graduate internship) OR certification in 1+ of the following infant/early childhood evidence based practices: Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Infant-Parent Psychotherapy (IPP), Promoting First Relationships (PFR), Theraplay, National Child Traumatic Stress Network Learning Collaborative.

Preferred Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience with preferred experience working with other service providers and child and family systems, 2 years with 0-5 age range, and evidenced-based practice.
• EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Knowledge of IECMH principles, early relational health, and child development. A strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Performance Requirements

• KNOWLEDGE: Maintain a working knowledge of current trends in community mental health, including health care reform and automation of job tasks using computer technology. Maintain a working knowledge of mental health rehabilitation standards.
• SKILLS: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public. Communication - Communicates clearly and concisely. Computer skills - Ability to operate a personal computer, fax machine, printer, and copier proficiently.

Work Environment

• Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.
• Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the job duties, the employee is required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, or listen. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
