Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform depot-level troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on legacy inertial navigation systems, including AN/WSN-5 INS, along with AN/WSN-2/2A, MK-27, and MK-39 Gyrocompasses.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components in accordance with NAVSEA and DoD technical manuals.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with engineers and customers.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
- Experience:
- Inertial Electronics Technician I - Two years of experience to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.
- Inertial Electronics Technician II - Two years of experience to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.
- Must demonstrate at least one year of practical experience in electronics installation.
- Inertial Electronics Technician III - Six years of experience to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installation and Checkout. One year of experience, to include: supervision, and shop practices. Two years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair and installation. Four years of experience working with US Navy Navigation Systems.
