Key Responsibilities
- Represent Anthropic's scientific and technical vision to the life sciences industry through conference keynotes, executive briefings, whitepapers, and scientific advisory boards.
- Establish Claude as the leading AI platform across discovery research, translational and clinical development, and regulatory affairs.
- Serve as executive technical sponsor for strategic life sciences accounts, engaging CSOs, CMOs, Heads of R&D, Chief Digital/Data Officers, and Heads of AI/Computational Science on enterprise AI strategy.
- Build peer-to-peer relationships that position Anthropic as a strategic R&D transformation partner.
- Translate customer requirements and competitive dynamics into product priorities. Partner closely with Product and Research to develop life-sciences-specific capabilities including scientific accuracy and citation integrity, GxP/validated workflows, data privacy and security, model governance, explainability, and auditability.

Understand value drivers across discovery, development, and commercial functions, competitive positioning, and deal structuring that aligns with how biopharma and research organizations buy technology.
- Internal Enablement & Advocacy: Train and uplift Anthropic's GTM teams on life sciences domain expertise, scientific workflows, use cases, and buyer personas. Create enablement content, conduct training sessions, and serve as the internal authority on all things life sciences.
- Influence without authority across the organization.
- Regulatory & Compliance Navigation: Partner internally and externally to develop thought leadership on AI governance frameworks aligned with FDA and EMA expectations, GxP and GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity (ALCOA+), and patient-data privacy (HIPAA/GDPR). Help customers understand model risk management, validation, explainability requirements, and responsible AI practices for regulated scientific and clinical work.
- Ecosystem Partnership: Build technical relationships with GSIs and life sciences consultancies, cloud providers, and life sciences platform/data vendors.

- Deep domain expertise across one or more stages of the drug discovery and development lifecycle — discovery/translational research, bioinformatics/computational biology, clinical development, or regulatory affairs — with hands-on experience building or operating mission-critical scientific or development systems.
- Established executive networks across life sciences R&D and technology leadership (CSOs, CMOs, Heads of R&D / Data Science) and credibility as a thought leader in the industry.
- Deep knowledge of life sciences regulatory and quality requirements (FDA/EMA guidance, GxP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, computer system validation) and experience implementing compliant technology solutions.
- Experience influencing product roadmaps based on customer feedback and market requirements, working effectively with Product and Engineering teams.

How We're Different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
