Industry Insights – Online Music Sync Workshops

About the workshops

This three-month online workshop series seeks to unlock music sync and licensing opportunities for women, trans and nonbinary people. Presented in partnership with Cavendish Music, the sessions will offer emerging artists a space to connect and explore the landscape of modern production music, supporting them to build professionalism and sustainability in their creative careers. Workshops will take place this September, October and November and will be led by representatives from the Cavendish family.

Schedule

• 23 Sep: An Intro to Sync — hosted by Joanna Gregory (Head of Strategy and Operations at Cavendish Music). This session introduces the burgeoning landscape of music sync and licensing, so you can get a feel for whether it's right for you.
• 28 Oct: Writing for Sync: Music Briefs — hosted by Amy McKnight. Amy provides a composer's perspective of working on a sync brief from beginning to completion, exploring the balance of artistic integrity and client-centredness, sharing dos and don'ts for working with commercial partners and supervisors, and offering tips for getting your foot through the door.
• 27 Nov: A&R Feedback Session — hosted by Róisín Doyle-Bakare & Tammy Tinawi. This interactive session offers a chance to connect with experienced music library producers. You'll dive into music library publishing, learn professional standards and expectations, get practical tips on presenting your work, and hear about creating standout tracks and navigating the production music landscape.

Access

Access to these sessions is free for sustainer and soulmate members of Saffron's online community, Saffron Members Club. Membership packages start at £5.50 per month and provide access to regular online workshops, an online community space, video masterclasses, free music tech tools, discounts and more.

Workshops are open to people worldwide but will run at 7.30pm UK time — please bear time zone differences in mind. If you purchase a ticket but cannot attend live, you will automatically be emailed a recording after the event.

These workshops are intended for women, non-binary, trans and gender non-conforming people. While we do not ban cisgender men from attending, we hope they will respect that this event is not intended for them.
