Industrial Technician Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Coordination – 60%
  • Supervise, train, and lead a team of maintenance technicians
  • Ensure the team stays current with industry standards, best practices, and internal training
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and corrective actions
  • Ensure the group’s timelines are met and internal/external customer expectations are exceeded
  • Coordinate maintenance responsibilities and communication across multiple shifts
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and skill-development plans for technicians
  • Develop, implement, and maintain technician training plans
  • Provide input and feedback to engineering for new development and continuous improvement
  • Communicate technician policies and procedures during internal and external audits
• Maintenance Planning & Line Support – 30%
  • Develop and maintain PM schedules to minimize production downtime using industry-standard tools (e.g., mean time to failure, planned vs. unplanned downtime ratios)
  • Communicate and coordinate planned downtime with engineering, operations, and production control
  • Identify high-risk equipment and minimize production impact
  • Analyze and recommend staffing based on production demand
  • Ensure the maintenance team utilizes internal and external resources for maintenance and line support
  • Order and organize spare part inventory
  • Adjust spare part inventory levels based on production demand
• Technical Support – 10%
  • Monitor and continuously reduce technician response time and repair time during line-down support
  • Provide technical guidance and support for manufacturing activities, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Collaborate with departments to identify improvement areas and implement solutions to enhance manufacturing processes

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher in engineering technology or a related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in an automated industrial setting (required)
• 1-3 years of lead or supervisory experience (required)

Skills

• Proficiency with equipment and tools, including robots, PLCs, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, press equipment, and torque systems
• Familiarity with safety protocols
• Strong communication skills to interact with employees at all organizational levels
• Ability to drive project direction, meet deadlines, and deliver measurable results through collaboration
• Collaborate with Quality Manager and Engineering Managers to identify and execute cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards
