Industrial Technician

About the role
This position performs a variety of tasks in the overall manufacturing process, including abrasive blasting, painting, thermal zincing, and assembly. The role requires the use of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools, as well as cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and cutting torches. The individual must work safely, adhering to all Tandemloc, state, and federal safety and production policies, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety-toed shoes, gloves, hearing protection, face shields, blast/paint suits, blast helmets, and respirators. Respirator use requires passing pulmonary exams and the ability to be clean-shaven for safety.
This position reports directly to the Welding Manager.
Responsibilities
- Abrasive blasting, painting, thermal zincing, and assembly tasks
- Operate hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools, cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and cutting torches
- Follow all safety and production policies and procedures
- Use proper PPE, including respirators (requires pulmonary exam and clean-shaven compliance)
- Read prints and use measuring devices (e.g., calipers, tape measures, steel rulers)
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, fumes, or dirt
- Perform tasks in non-environmentally controlled conditions (hot summers, limited heat in winter)
- Bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. overhead safely
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Verbally convey counts, statuses, and needs clearly
- Work with limited supervision
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a related position (preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read prints and use measuring devices
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work in a loud, dangerous, and repetitive environment
- Ability to wear protective clothing, earplugs, safety glasses, and respirators
- Ability to be clean-shaven for safety compliance
- Physical ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. overhead

Schedule
Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (four 10-hour days). All positions are on-site in Havelock, NC.
