Industrial Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assisting in project management tasks as assigned by the project management staff
• Developing skills and progressively taking on more responsibility
• Working in various McGough industrial sectors such as Agriculture (Biofuels, Oilseed), Power & Infrastructure, Pharma, Life Sciences and Tech
• Pursuing, preconstruction, and business development activities
• Assisting in pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements
• Participating in QA/AC page turn sessions
• Understanding self-perform capabilities and warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools and services
• Performing quantity take-offs and assisting project team in soliciting and reviewing subcontract bids
• Aiding in performing trade scope reviews
• Aiding in scheduling using CPM and participating in daily/weekly work planning
• Reviewing and processing requests for information (RFI), shop drawings/submittals, and attending BIM coordination meetings
• Obtaining and reporting LEED documentation
• Aiding in subcontract management by reviewing and processing subcontractor change requests and invoices
• Understanding change document types and appropriate uses (CCDs, PRs, ASIs, etc.), tracking labor costs, and managing material procurement and cost coding
• Reporting cost history data as directed
• Attending and participating in project meetings, including safety meetings, foremen's meetings, construction coordination meetings, start-up meetings, and Project Assessment meetings
• Participating in post-construction processes such as punchlist, final as-built plans, and documentation
• Engaging in company business development activities, client functions, design firm open houses, conferences, and other meetings
• Supporting and following standard of work, participating in Lean events, and supporting the McGough way

Qualifications

• Preferred: Construction Management or related degree
• Internship, education, or field experience

Office and Travel

• Office: Corporate office and various jobsites as needed
• Travel: Flexibility for travel is desirable with ability to temporarily relocate or regularly travel to project sites in the Upper Midwest region

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $82,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience.

Schedule

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee’s work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car.
