Industrial Process Water/Wastewater Leader
About the role
HDR is searching for an Industrial Process Water/Wastewater Leader in the Michigan Area. This role involves significant experience with industrial water/wastewater treatment systems and includes responsibilities such as leading teams, developing proposals, and supporting business development activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to gather relevant technical information
- Support construction and commissioning
- Project closeout
- Participate in strategic planning and the development of annual and long-term goals
- Lead the technical portions of proposal development including scope, schedule, and fee
- Perform or oversee process design sizing and hydraulic calculations
- Develop design criteria, equipment and procurement specifications, studies, bid evaluations, and reports
- Lead the development of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, piping arrangement drawings and installation details
- Review and evaluate equipment vendor and installation contractor proposals and submittals
- Develop and execute QA/QC plans
- Lead technical teams including engineers, EITs, designers, and drafters
- Work directly with project managers and clients to ensure that projects meet or exceed client expectations
- Develop water supply and discharge agreements and permits
- Meet and coordinate with permitting authorities
- Provide internal and external training on industrial process W/WW systems
- Implement, monitor and support company policies
- Aid in the selection, training, development and management of technical personnel
- Create recommendations for client facility standard monitoring systems, procedures, lab/chemical/reagent management, and staff training
- Actively participate in industry conferences
- Publish at least one technical paper annually
Requirements
- MS Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- A minimum of 10 years experience with industrial water/wastewater systems planning and design
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
Qualifications
- Strong technical background and experience in designing water distribution systems
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation and hydraulic modeling software proficiency
- Project Engineering and Project Management experience is necessary

Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
