About the role

As an Industrial Painter II, you will prepare and paint components and equipment to a high-quality standard in a manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, hourly position reporting to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for paint by grinding, sanding, degreasing, seam sealing, and other surface treatments.
  • Operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other surfaces.
  • Mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, urethanes, zinc epoxies, and waterborne paint systems according to prescribed formulas.
  • Maintain painting apparatus by cleaning paint lines, paint guns, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the work area.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and man-lifts as needed.
  • Promote and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial painting environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

  • Normal conditions for a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and potential hazards.
  • Required use of safety equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe work boots, and hard hats.
  • Physical demands include medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Essential physical activities may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Visual acuity requirements involve operating machinery at close range, including inspection of small defects, parts, and measurement devices.
  • Exposure to inside environmental conditions with potential hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and chemicals.
  • Position requires on-site work in the factory; remote work is not available.
