Key Responsibilities
- Applies solvent and water-based paints to metal and other surfaces, using spray equipment.
- Prepares walls and other surfaces for painting.
- Make on-site preparations such as covering of fixtures and filling cracks and holes with appropriate material.
- Mixes paints and matches colors.
- May perform touch-ups or coordinate large painting projects.
- Completes documentation and works in a timely manner.
- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.

Qualifications
- Typically requires a high school diploma and up to 2 years of experience.
- Read and understand shop orders and blueprints, safety rules, standard work instructions written in English.
- Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to use hand tools in a safe and proper manner.
- Based on department, may be required to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Continuously lift/move 10 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous standing; walking; using hands to finger, handle or feel; reaching with hands and arms above shoulder height; stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; talking; and hearing.
- Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist, and working in limited space.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Work Environment: Continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. Occasionally exposed to high places, fumes, or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
