Industrial Painter

Industrial Painter position focused on painting sheet metal, heavy steel frames, and similar metal surfaces using a spray gun in a ventilated spray booth.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of paints, thinners, cleaning agents, and other materials used in cleaning, painting, and finishing parts and equipment.
• Follow safety practices for painting equipment, tools, and work practices.
• Prepare different surfaces for painting, including bare and previously painted surfaces.
• Perform maintenance on painting equipment as required.
• Operate equipment such as air compressors, high-pressure air guns, sanders, painting equipment, and hand tools with minimal supervision.
• Follow oral and written directions accurately.
• Prepare reports of work performed and log daily work using a computer or tablet.
• Maintain effective relationships with team members and others.
• Mix, blend, and prepare paint and other coating systems.
• Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs.
• Comply with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health, and safety program.

Requirements

• Knowledge of methods, procedures, equipment, and tools related to industrial painting.
• Experience preparing surfaces for painting and finish work.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain routine records.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to see well enough to mix and match paint colors.
• Capability to climb ladders, balance, bend, push, pull, stand for extended periods, walk, reach overhead and above shoulders, squat, kneel, and twist.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Full dexterity of hands and fingers to operate painting equipment and tools.

Pay

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and spray test results.

Schedule

1st shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
