Industrial Painter - 2nd Shift

The Strongsville facility (110+ employees, 100,000 sq. ft.) is a center of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear, focusing on critical machining operations for major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, as well as military programs including the F-18, F-35, C-17, and C-130. The division emphasizes the latest manufacturing technologies, including machining automation, to remain a best-value producer of complex landing gear components.

About the Role

The Painter prepares and spray-paints parts or assemblies such as landing gear, hydraulic cylinders, and detail parts. The role also involves preparing parts through identification and broaching operations for painting or delivery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections of parts to ensure proper cleaning before painting.
• Adjust pistols, prepare required paint mixtures according to prescribed standards, and clean parts.
• Perform occasional masking and demasking operations.
• Prepare mixtures of transparent sealant (CLEAR) and cosmetic paint (retouching), and apply them using manual or mechanical equipment (brush, airbrush, HVLP, etc.).
• Paint small (~2 foot) to large (~12 foot) titanium and steel parts using an HVLP gravity-fed spray gun.
• Document and maintain traceability in accordance with quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Aerospace experience is a bonus but not required.
• 2+ years’ experience working in a paint shop with manual air-guns.
• Good sense of judgment and capacity to evaluate problems.
• Must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.
