PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quickly responds to service requests, production line calls, and internal customer needs.
- Maintains production areas and ensures all inside and outside areas are free from debris and other hazards, providing a safe and clean working environment.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities on all plant equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
- Implements and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production and maintenance reports.
- Performs routine maintenance and facility upgrades including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air compressors, and some HVAC equipment.
- Identifies reported and non-reported facility and production equipment issues; schedules and performs corrective actions as needed.
- Implements new ideas geared at reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
- Trains production workers in areas of equipment operation and routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and responding to requests.
- Places supply orders as needed.
- Enforces Company safety policies to prevent employee accidents and injuries.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in an applicable field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Basic measuring capabilities using tape measures and digital calipers.
- Experience with mechanical equipment repair is preferred.
- Experience with electrical maintenance repair including low and high-voltage equipment is preferred.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of common power and hand tools is required.
- Metal fabrication skills to repair, modify, and build fixtures and equipment are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work an altered schedule as needed, to accommodate business needs.
- Basic Math skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to withstand periods sitting at a desk as needed.
- Occasional use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer.
- Frequent lifting objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
- Frequent carrying objects weighing up to and including 25 pounds.
- Frequent pushing and/or pulling objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
- Exposure to extreme climate variations; exposure to heat and cold.
- Occasional crawling, bending, kneeling, climbing, and/or squatting.
