Industrial Maintenance Tech

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks an Industrial Maintenance Tech to support facility and equipment reliability for a boutique strategic communications firm in Washington, DC. In this hands-on role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems and industrial equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and manage work orders and maintenance logs. You'll collaborate with operations and leadership to minimize downtime, uphold safety standards, and support continuous improvements in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and building systems to ensure reliable operationsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective repairsExecute work orders, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and support asset tracking and parts inventoryCollaborate with operations and leadership to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to critical project workSupport continuous improvement by identifying equipment upgrades, safety enhancements, and process efficienciesFollow safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable codes and standardsCoordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized maintenance or repairs are requiredAssist with installation, commissioning, and calibration of new equipment and systems Required Skills Industrial equipment maintenanceMechanical troubleshootingElectrical systems troubleshootingPreventive maintenance planningPneumatic and hydraulic systemsReading technical manuals and schematicsComputerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Lockout/Tagout and safety proceduresBasic HVAC and building systemsVendor and contractor coordination
