Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment related to all aspects of company manufacturing and production demands and schedules at our Price, Utah facility. Reporting directly to the Industrial Maintenance Manager, this full-time, dayshift position offers the opportunity to work with a team of driven professionals building the infrastructure that powers the world.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections, prioritize work, and complete necessary repairs on production equipment and machinery.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, overhead crane systems, and production machines.
• Conduct facilities maintenance, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, changing filters, replacing office lights, and making electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Improve equipment reliability and uptime through proactive maintenance processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, records, and documentation of PM inspections and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and devices.
• Dismantle and examine devices to access and remove defective parts; adjust functional parts and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts; overhaul, modify, and rebuild equipment to specifications using welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine shop skills.
• Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Fabricate repair parts as needed and determine the extent of repairs required.
• Research, order, and maintain supplies, parts, and tools; operate company vehicle for parts pickup/delivery.
• Operate forklifts, man lifts, and hydraulic working platforms safely and in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
• Start up and shut down equipment following company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Report unsafe conditions, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Participate in training programs and contribute to team efforts as needed.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to operate a wide range of equipment, hand and power tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, torches, brake shears, power saws, drills, punch presses, band saws, welders, and various mechanic tools.
• Experience with industrial pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including three-phase 260 volt and higher.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, including gear boxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, AC/DC drives, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment operational instructions.
• Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail.
• Good teamwork and communication skills; ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills.

• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift/move up to 75 pounds, and perform tasks requiring reaching, grasping, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, and climbing ladders.
• Ability to fabricate and assemble metal buildings, products, and parts with minimal guidance.
• Compliance with all IE safety programs, policies, and procedures; ability to operate equipment safely.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with every other Friday off. Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
