Industrial Maintenance Electrician
About the role
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician position supports reliable plant operations at Pinto Valley, an open-pit copper mine in central Arizona. This journeyman-level role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical equipment, including AC motors, power distribution systems, substation maintenance, etc.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot and support electrical controls including VFDs, motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, and related control systems.
- Safely install, maintain, and troubleshoot low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 13.8kv.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot facility electrical infrastructure.
- Apply analytical troubleshooting techniques using diagnostic electrical test equipment, blueprints, diagrams, and OEM manuals to identify and resolve issues.
- Safely perform work at heights using ladders and aerial work platforms as required.
- Perform conduit installation and support electrical construction and modification projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of troubleshooting experience as an Industrial or Commercial Maintenance Electrician.
- Strong industrial equipment electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 13.8kv.
- Experience with AC and/or DC motors & controls.
- Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English.
- Preferred: Experience with VFDs, rectifiers, and substation transformers.
- Preferred: Mining experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including stairs and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and high-humidity environments.
- Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, squat, and work in confined spaces.
Skills
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge of MSHA requirements, site procedures, and NFPA70E and NEC electrical safety standards.
- Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay
Salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
