Industrial Maintenance Apprentice

About the role

The Weyerhaeuser Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice program is designed to provide hands-on training and education in industrial maintenance technology. This opportunity is available at the Magnolia, MS Lumber Mill, part of Weyerhaeuser's commitment to developing future leaders in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Scheduled to complete high school studies and graduate by June 1, 2026
• Able to commit to working a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Able to attend classes at Southwest MS Community College two days per week
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
• Problem-solving skills
• High level of initiative and motivation
• Passes pre-employment requirements including drug screen and background check
• Proficient in MS Office
• Willingness to work in challenging environments and perform essential functions of the position
• Commitment to following all unit electrical/maintenance practices
• Willingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
• Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
• Prior work experience within a manufacturing/industrial setting preferred
