Industrial Hygiene Specialist
About the role
Identify, report, and recommend corrective action for workplace environmental factors impacting safety, health, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Collects air, water, vapors, gases, and dust samples or other potentially toxic materials for analysis
- Assists or conducts detailed exposure assessments, analyses of operational procedures, facility design, equipment and materials, audits, and incident investigations
- Develops and recommends appropriate controls for occupational health hazards
- Assists site management in complying with Freeport-McMoRan, OSHA, MHSA and other regulations and standards
- Maintains a current knowledge of Freeport-McMoRan, OSHA, MHSA and other regulations and standards
- Prepares appropriate reports and presentations for management
- Communicates effectively in one-on-one and group situations, both verbally and in writing
- Assists in analyzing information and conclusions
- Performs sampling and chemical analysis and maintains inspection records
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, or closely related Scientific or Technical discipline
- Knowledge of and ability to use fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Industrial Hygiene
- General knowledge of chemical analysis, equipment and processes in order to assist in analyzing information and drawing conclusions
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and group situations, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform sampling and chemical analysis and to maintain inspection records
- Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Benefits
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $70,000-$95,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
