Industrial Hygiene Officer

About the role

We are seeking someone with experience in environmental sampling, exposure monitoring, and fire and life safety compliance. The role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of employees in the workplace by preventing accidents, promoting a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance with safety standards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and safety-related incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees, managers, and supervisors.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
• Assess the need for safety equipment and personal protective equipment and ensure their availability, proper use, and maintenance.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire safety plans, and first aid protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field required.
• Licenses and Credentials: Experience in safety-related fields required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable of local, state, and national safety regulations and standards; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical skills; keen eye for detail; strong leadership qualities; ability to adapt to changing situations and work in diverse environments.
