About the role
We are seeking someone with experience in environmental sampling, exposure monitoring, and fire and life safety compliance. The role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of employees in the workplace by preventing accidents, promoting a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and safety-related incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees, managers, and supervisors.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
- Assess the need for safety equipment and personal protective equipment and ensure their availability, proper use, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire safety plans, and first aid protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field required.
- Licenses and Credentials: Experience in safety-related fields required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable of local, state, and national safety regulations and standards; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical skills; keen eye for detail; strong leadership qualities; ability to adapt to changing situations and work in diverse environments.
