About the Role
Join SkyWater’s U.S.-based team and contribute to the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, including superconducting, 3D integrated circuits, carbon nanotubes, photonic logic devices, and micro electro-mechanical systems. As a Plant Engineering Site Services Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving site infrastructure critical to semiconductor manufacturing for aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, consumer, and industrial markets.
Responsibilities

- Coordinate, plan, and perform equipment preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
- Manage contractors and provide technical guidance to technicians, including involvement in SOP development and training.
- Support root cause investigations and implement solutions for site services, including construction, office renovations, landscaping, utilities, and general infrastructure.
- Serve as a technical expert for semiconductor cleanroom characterization, including particle counters, manometers, laminarity test streamers, surface resistivity meters, leak scanning, air velocity, pressure differentials, electrostatic measurements, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee unloading, receipt, and storage of chemical deliveries, including review of certificates of analysis.
- Develop annual plans for equipment area activities and capital planning to ensure site uptime and equipment reliability.
- Manage chemical inventory (FIFO), hazardous waste handling, resist cannister changes, and maintain supply/quality parameters of chemical and slurry distributions.
- Maintain equipment uptime through troubleshooting and maintenance of valves, filters, piping, pressure/vacuum vessels, pumps, instrumentation, and other components.
- Operate system equipment via HMI for batch creation/distribution and monitor/operate HVAC equipment, including boilers, cooling towers, and chillers critical for cleanroom operations.
- Operate and maintain scrubber systems, fire systems, vacuum, compressed air, and DI water plants.
- Perform system rounds, rotate equipment, and uphold area upkeep and 5S principles.
- Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally, escalate issues as required, and drive continuous improvements.
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate record-keeping/reporting.
Requirements
- 2-year technical/associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent military training/manufacturing work experience.
- 5 years’ experience managing and/or maintaining sites and related infrastructure.
- 8-10 years of related work experience in manufacturing or operations.
- Mechanical inclination with strong troubleshooting skills for system equipment.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset.
- U.S. citizenship (required for government security clearance).
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- At times, bending and/or crouching.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including donning fab attire as necessary.
Desired Qualifications:
- Relevant vocational/professional training of at least 3 years.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Boiler license.
- EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certificate.
Pay
The hourly range for this role is $42.46 - $63.69 per hour. Pay is based on job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials.
