Industrial Engineering Supervisor

About the role

The Industrial Engineering Supervisor supervises plant Industrial Engineers and reports to the plant Industrial Engineering Manager. This role interacts with management to develop hourly and salary staffing plans and leads actions to achieve productivity objectives. The Supervisor works daily with production management and union leadership on staffing requirements, supports development of direct and indirect labor budgets with corporate industrial engineering teams, and performs indirect labor and ergonomics studies with plant Industrial Engineers.

The position assists in planning and adjusting manpower according to assembly plants' production schedules, builds plant budgets, and forecasts yearly manpower needs. The IE Supervisor supports Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) and new program system design reviews and optimization, and assists the IE Manager with day-to-day management of shop floor activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise plant Industrial Engineers and report to the plant Industrial Engineering Manager.
• Develop hourly and salary staffing plans and lead productivity initiatives.
• Interact daily with production management and union leadership on staffing requirements.
• Support development of direct and indirect labor budgets with corporate industrial engineering teams.
• Perform indirect labor and ergonomics studies with plant Industrial Engineers.
• Plan and adjust manpower according to production schedules.
• Build plant budgets and forecast yearly manpower needs.
• Support Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) and new program system design reviews and optimization.
• Assist the IE Manager with day-to-day management of shop floor activities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience with time and motion studies, development of standardized work, and standard data.
• Understanding of manufacturing systems.
• Ability to apply throughput improvement processes.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of traditional lean manufacturing systems.
• Data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead a team and give clear directions.
• Ability to learn new things and develop new methods and processes for stamping environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Engineering.
• MTM-UAS or MODAPTS certification.
• Experience working in a union environment.
• Supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) principles.
• Knowledge/experience with AutoCAD, systems, and Microsoft Excel.
