Industrial Engineer, Outbound Flow & Optimization

What You'll Do

• Design innovative material flow strategies for a wide variety of finished goods and raw materials
• Develop and maintain discrete event simulation (DES) models for outbound logistics processes, including vehicle exit from production line through end-of-line operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
• Conduct scenario analysis and "what-if" studies to evaluate different outbound process configurations and shipping strategies
• Improve/design models to aid with predicting material handling labor, warehouse space, and material handling equipment
• Partner with manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and programs teams to understand process requirements and constraints
• Challenge the assumptions behind manufacturing designs, and base recommendations of design on a first principles approach
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Factory Design layout teams to design detailed material flow layouts
• Design innovative, cost-effective solutions in automated and manual solutions
• Design conceptual layouts to aid with analysis

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years of industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering experience with emphasis on material flow/supply chain/process improvement (internship experience will be considered)
• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and/or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience with FlexSim or AnyLogic for simulation modeling and optimization
• Programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience with supply chain network design
• Experience with layouts in AutoCAD
