Industrial Engineer Intern

About the role
The Industrial Engineer Intern will work alongside the Engineering Team to analyze and improve manufacturing processes, driving operational efficiency beyond traditional Lean methodologies. This role supports continuous-improvement projects, process design, and data-driven problem-solving in both office and factory environments.
Responsibilities
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate on the design, layout, and implementation of new plant processes.
- Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures.
- Update facility layouts, process maps, and workflow diagrams using CAD or similar tools.
- Monitor and report on the progress and results of implemented changes.
- Collect and analyze operational data to identify root causes and solutions for current challenges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or holds an Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and basic statistics.
- Conversational English.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions, adhere to safety and quality standards, and work closely with teams.

- Experience using hand and power tools.

- Prior real-world work experience in a similar role.
Work Environment
The role operates in both climate-controlled office settings and non-climate-controlled factory environments. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, gloves, and protective garments may be required in certain factory areas.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to walk, climb, or balance.
- Must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Color vision is required.
- Employees must report to work fit for duty and remain unimpaired by alcohol, illicit drugs, or medication.
Pay
$18–$22 per hour.
