Responsibilities
- Set production standards through application of standard data or performing time study(s).
- Conduct capacity analysis and collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure production processes meet demand.
- Create two-dimensional facility drawings using AutoCAD.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering to identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
- Develop process sequences for new products and manage process documentation.
- Promote and implement LEAN manufacturing practices.
- Review and improve ergonomic practices.
- Optimize machining processes for quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
- Design machine and tools for new products or processes.
- Track and execute cost reduction initiatives for process improvements.
- Plan, execute, and manage projects for product continuous improvement.
- Communicate Lean group’s philosophy, vision, and expectations.
- Develop and sustain employee training and development on lean concepts.
- Develop measurement systems supporting lean manufacturing philosophy.
- Lead value stream mapping exercises to identify business improvement areas.
- Implement project plans to achieve future state.
- Reach expense budget objectives and capital item targets.
- Collaborate with production teams to address process and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Technical Engineers, and Project Managers to align on quality objectives and priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Able to plan and implement capital equipment projects, develop business cases, and manage project execution.
- Experience facilitating continuous improvement events such as Kaizen and Rapid Improvement.
- Knowledge of 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Error Proofing, 1-piece Flow, Kanban, and Total Productive Maintenance.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and maintaining production 2D/3D layouts.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, construction materials, and methods.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Desire to learn new processes and technology.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure.
- Understanding of PFMEA, DFx, and Six Sigma processes is highly desirable.
