Who We Are
Emerson, a global leader in custom-designed control valves, is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to join our Marshalltown, Iowa team.
What You Will Do
- Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve manufacturing methods to reduce cost and strengthen competitive advantage.
- Research new manufacturing technologies and recommend capital improvement projects.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with vendors to define product specifications, source equipment, materials, and components, and evaluate them against quality and performance standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing needs, and related costs to support management decision-making.
- Partner with management, design engineering, and cross-functional teams on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and process improvements.
- Implement engineering changes and new process introductions into the manufacturing system in a timely and effective manner.
- Use CAD/CAM and CNC machining programs to help optimize manufacturing processes.
- Apply statistical methods to assess and improve manufacturing process capability.
- Develop clear work instructions and tooling documentation to support production teams.
- Support production departments by troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with statistical process control, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience programming CNC machines using G and M codes, as well as experience with CNC programming software such as Edge Cam, Mastercam, etc.
- Experience supporting machining, and fabrication operations in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting new process introductions and capital equipment projects.
