About the role

The Industrial Engineer will be based in Dallas, TX, and is responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality, and delivery improvements to support a manufacturing organization. This role aims to increase productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
  • Simulates process, materials, and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineers using REFA, MOST, WITNESS, or other adequate tools.
  • During NPI (New Product Introduction), coordinates process planning and setup with respect to takt, cycle time, and direct labor requirements.
  • Reviews results during prototyping and trial runs and provides feedback to the NPI and sales teams.
  • Develops work measurement programs and examines work samples to establish standards for labor utilization.
  • Analyzes staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data (e.g., production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules) to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing new equipment.
  • Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
  • May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and designs production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
  • Designs or improves systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
  • Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs, and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation, and/or Six Sigma projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • Typically requires 4+ years of experience in industrial engineering or a related role.
