About the role
The Industrial Engineer supports hands-on operational improvement initiatives across the AMPS manufacturing site. This role is responsible for improving PM green-to-green performance, reducing unplanned downtime, lowering scrap and rework, improving yield, standardizing operating practices, and supporting ramp-up of current and future production lines.
Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across assigned production lines, toolsets, or value streams
- Aid in improving PM green-to-green time through standardization, lean methods, and optimized workflows
- Support reduction of unplanned downtime using structured problem solving and root cause analysis
- Support scrap reduction, rework reduction, and yield improvement efforts
- Develop and maintain standard work, visual controls, and operating procedures
- Track and analyze key factory KPIs related to uptime, PM performance, yield, scrap, and execution
- Translate manufacturing data into clear problem statements, action items, and follow-up needs
- Support cross-functional accountability by coordinating updates, tracking commitments, and following through on assigned improvement actions
- Partner with Engineering and Automation/IT to support implementation of automation-enabled solutions that improve KPI reporting, process visibility, and operational control
- Use manufacturing and automation system data to identify losses, support root cause analysis, and verify results
- Document improvement activities, measure results, and communicate progress to the Industrial Engineering Manager and site stakeholders
- Support training and coaching efforts related to structured problem solving and data-driven decision making
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process engineering, continuous improvement, or operations excellence
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, standardization, waste elimination, and root cause problem solving
- Experience supporting improvement initiatives in a hands-on production environment
- Experience using KPIs and performance data to identify issues and support improvement actions
- Experience supporting implementation of automation-enabled solutions to improve process performance, visibility, control, or execution in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively on the factory floor and drive disciplined execution
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience in high-volume manufacturing
- Preferred: Experience improving PM performance, maintenance workflows, or equipment uptime
- Preferred: Experience supporting scrap reduction, yield improvement, and operational standardization
- Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Preferred: Familiarity with SAP, MES, CMMS, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar manufacturing and reporting systems
- Preferred: Familiarity with automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMI interfaces, or related digital manufacturing technologies
- Preferred: Experience supporting line startup, ramp-up, factory expansion, or operating model transitions

$86,197.00 - $118,521.00 assuming full time status
