We are seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our operations and maintenance team, providing intermediate-level expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility electrical and mechanical equipment in an industrial, large commercial, or logistics distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment up to 480-volt 3 phase and facility systems such as roof top units (RTUs), doors, lighting, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and motor control circuits.
  • Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) or Canadian Electrical Code as applicable.
  • Utilize the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Troubleshoot electrical components including PLCs, AC & DC drives, relay logic, single loop controllers, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Conduct predictive maintenance activities such as infrared (IR) thermographic inspections of electrical distribution systems to identify hot spots, load imbalances, loose connections, and equipment degradation.
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback on work orders while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations, including proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing PPE.
  • Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/prints, updating them as needed for modifications.
  • Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility for customer benefit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Licensed Master Electrician or Journeyman’s License.
  • Three years of experience as a maintenance electrician in an industrial environment, or a demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and complete a fit test for several types of respirators.
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • Fluency in computer use, including the full Microsoft product line.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required).
  • Ability to read and understand information in documents or displayed on a computer screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in industrial electrical or a related field.
  • Six years of maintenance experience in industrial HVAC, industrial mechanical machine repair, or automotive repair.
  • Experience working safely with 24V, 120V, 277V, and 480V 3 phase circuits.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial lighting systems, motor controls, electric motors, PLC logic, soft starters, and VFDs.
  • Experience installing conduit and using a CMMS (Maximo experience is a plus).
  • Experience streamlining and improving inventory practices.
  • Infrared Thermography Certification (e.g., Level I or Level II Thermographer) or equivalent training.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding.
  • Perform repetitive motions including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, stretching, reaching, and wrist movement.
  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
  • Differentiate colors for wire color-coding.
  • Read and understand information in documents or on computer screens.
  • Use office equipment and operate a computer keyboard for database access, messaging, and document preparation.
  • Attend meetings on-site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer, or vendor locations, including some air travel.
  • Communicate effectively via telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
  • Move light to medium weight materials into storage locations.
  • Interact professionally with clients despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Cope with job-related stressors to maintain acceptable performance levels.
  • Familiarity with facilities equipment such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Other Attributes

  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.

Pay

$36.00–$40.00 per hour.
