Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment and control circuits from 24v up to and including 480V AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
- Execution of projects through assigning work, executing work, and testing finished project.
- Directs the work of unskilled and semi-skilled helpers assisting in projects, assuring that proper safety practices are followed.
- Performs work following standard NFPA 70E(NEC) as required.
- Reads schematics and one line in the effort to determine solutions for problems that arise.
- Performs safety and hazard assessments prior to performing any work.
- Inspection and documentation of findings.
- Communicate to Client and management of issue found and work completion.
- Responds to calls and takes necessary actions.
- Performs preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Electrician Certificate from an apprenticeship program or equivalent Associates Technical degree.
- Three years of experience as a maintenance electrician in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working safely with voltages up to 480v.
- Work using an aerial lift 30ft or higher.
- Experience working with lighting, lighting control and commercial systems.
- Experience installing rigid conduit and EMT up to 3 inches.
- Working knowledge of NEC, sizing wire and transformers, calculating conduit fill.
- Experience troubleshooting and replacing 3 phase motors up to 60hp.
- Experience with a CMMS or Maintenance Management System (i.e. Maximo, MP2, etc.).
- NFPA-70E training preferred.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
