About the Role

Experienced Electrician with advanced skills in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Responsible for complex electrical tasks, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes. May lead or mentor junior electricians and coordinate with other trades or project teams to complete assignments efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility’s electrical equipment.
  • Plan, layout, install, and repair a wide variety of complex electrical equipment including automatic machine and process controls, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, tape actuated controls, and other equipment involving tube or transistor circuits.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test, and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities including air compressors, nitrogen lines, and lighting systems.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions including building of carts and layout boards without prints.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and materials handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Wire new offices.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform pre-trip/post-trip vehicle safety inspection; document and report vehicle condition at beginning and end of each shift.
  • Check all vehicle fluid levels daily and add fluids if necessary.
  • Clean outside of vehicle to ensure absence of material build-up throughout each shift.
  • Maintain daily reports as required by DOT and Company regulations.
  • May be required to drive a flatbed truck and operate forklift and overhead crane as needed.
  • Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and other Company policies, procedures, and requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
  • Four (4) years of formal technical training.
  • Two (2) years of journeyman experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and fixed systems from blueprints, schematics, and sketches or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Must have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles.
  • Must have excellent driving skills and the ability to maintain satisfactory customer and public relations in performance of duties.
  • Must be able to work required overtime and flexible work schedule.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and have a working knowledge of the English language.
