Industrial Electrician

Position Summary

Under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for installation, repair, and preventative maintenance on electric and electronic systems of both the production equipment and the physical plant. This position will also assist the Maintenance Technicians in general equipment maintenance and repair.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and/or electronic systems of production equipment and physical plant
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic systems of the production equipment and physical plant
• Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards
• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
• Install electric and electronic systems
• Provide electrical and/or electronic expertise to managers, supervisors and other employees as needed
• Assist other Maintenance staff with general maintenance of the production equipment and the physical plant
• Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of single-phased and three-phased electrical systems
• Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic repairs and installation
• Knowledge of PLC
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the use of a multimeter
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
• Able to read and interpret safety rules, work instructions, operating instructions, maintenance information and procedure manuals written in English
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; able to compute rates, ratios and percentages

Education Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, required
• Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree or Electrician's certification, preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years industry knowledge and experience, preferred

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
• Moderate physical activity required, performing daily activities that are primarily production and/or technical in nature
• The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
