Job Responsibilities
- Maintain the various water and wastewater treatment, purification and production related equipment
- Facilitate electrical repairs necessary to keep equipment operating in an efficient manner
- Cook up with water and wastewater operations personnel to assure critical equipment is operational
- May be asked to assist other departments with various tasks during emergency repairs or routine maintenance
- Perform all routine preventative maintenance and repair tasks as specified in the equipment operations and maintenance manuals as directed by supervisory staff
- Identify electrical hazards, troubleshoot and remedy problems using independent judgment
- Maintain records of work performed on assets and provide follow-up reports within the work order management system
Job Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Electrician in an industrial setting
- Must possess a valid Electrical Journeyman’s license or obtain an Electrical Journeyman’s license with the State of Texas within 24 months
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Knowledgeable of electrical theory and practices
- Knowledgeable of safety pertaining to electrical distribution systems and equipment
- Knowledgeable in the use of electrical diagnostic tools and equipment and interpretation of results
- Proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Able to comprehend, carry out and administer written and oral instruction
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, drawings and one-line diagrams, operations and maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints and safety data sheets
