General Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
- Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballast, motors, etc.
- Affords assistance in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly and safe condition.
- Accomplishes work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, and national and local codes.
- Updates as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
- Attends Tool Box safety meetings and demonstrates safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
- Obtains an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.
- Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.
Education And Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous electrical experience is required.
- An ISA Instrumentation Certification is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
